Black-and-white publicity still from Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), one of Universal Pictures’ most iconic monster films. The image shows the Gill-man looming over a terrified woman on the sand - a classic "damsel in distress” moment that became synonymous with 1950s creature features.
Directed by Jack Arnold, the film starred Julie Adams and Ricou Browning (as the creature in underwater scenes). Its atmospheric cinematography and innovative creature design helped solidify it as a cult favorite in the Universal Monsters legacy, blending horror, adventure, and romance in the mysterious depths of the Amazon.
