Kim Novak is an American retired film and television actress as well as a painter. Rising to fame in the 1950s, she became best known for her role in Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological thriller Vertigo (1958), which remains one of cinema’s most celebrated films. Over her career, Novak received two Golden Globe Awards, an Honorary Golden Bear, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After retiring from acting, she devoted herself to painting and a life away from the spotlight.
