Peter Albin was a founding member and bassist of Big Brother and the Holding Company, the San Francisco rock band best known for its work with Janis Joplin. The group’s performances at Monterey helped introduce Joplin and the band to a much wider national audience and became one of the defining moments of the 1967 festival.
